82nd Academy Awards® Oscar® Nominees for Make-up

The nominees for the 82nd Annual Academy Awards® have been announced by the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences. Creators of looks for an Italian prime minister, aliens, and the queen of England all vie for the Oscar®.
Aldo Signoretti and Vittorio Sodano were nominated for Il Divo. Both were previously nominated for Apocalypto (Issue 64 of Make-Up Artist magazine), and Signoretti was also nominated for Moulin Rouge! (Issue 35 of Make-Up Artist magazine).

Jon Henry Gordon and Jenny Shircore were nominated for The Young Victoria (Issue 81 of Make-Up Artist magazine). This is the first Oscar® nomination for Gordon, and Shircore previously won the Best Achievement in Makeup Oscar® for Elizabeth (Issue 17 of Make-Up Artist magazine).

Wojciech Inglot, the chemist and businessman who created the global cosmetics brand Inglot, died suddenly on Saturday, Feb. 23 in Przemyśl, Poland. He was 58 years old.
Lisa Westcott and Julie Dartnell have won the 2013 Achievement in Makeup and Hairstyling Oscar for their work on Les Miserables. It was the first Oscar win for both.
Stuart Freeborn, whose pioneering work on 2001: A Space Odyssey and the early Star Wars films earned him a place in make-up history, has died at the age of 98.
