Kazuhiro Tsuji, whose work on the films Click and Norbit earned him two Oscar nominations, will design and apply an original prosthetic silicone make-up exclusively for this year's International Make-Up Artist Trade Show, held June 21-22 at the Pasadena Convention Center. This is a first IMATS engagement for Tsuji, who will serve as keynote speaker.
Beauty artist Antonella (whose celebrity clientele includes Jennifer Love Hewitt and Jessica Biel) is another first-time IMATS keynote speaker. She has extensive print, film and television experience.
KNB EFX Group founding member Howard Berger rounds out the speaker roster. KNB has contributed to dozens of films and television shows, including The Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe, which won the Oscar for Achievement in Makeup. Berger will discuss his work on The Chronicles of Narnia: Prince Caspian at the show.
Writer and film memorabilia collector Ron Magid is directing the make-up museum this year; the shoow will also feature educational seminars and more than 80 exhibitors demonstrating and selling cosmetic and effects products. At the Student Competition, finalists will create a look based on a theme. The 2008 beauty theme is Greek Mythology, while the character theme is Werewolves. |

Web Exclusive: Hellboy 2: The Golden Army, Young Hellboy - Monday August 04, 2008 |
| From a make-up perspective, the first major character to appear in Hellboy 2 is
a younger version of the hero, seen in a 1955 prologue with Professor
Broom (John Hurt). The Young Hellboy character was created by the
Barcelona-based company DDT Efectos Especiales and played in a
gender-bending twist by the company’s Montse Ribé. |
