The winners of the Creative Arts Emmy® Awards were awarded on Saturday, Sept. 13 at the NOKIA Theatre in Los Angeles. Make-up artist Matthew Mungle won his fifth and sixth Emmy® Awards, for Tracey Ullman’s State of the Union and John Adams.
Here are the winners for achievements in make-up:

Outstanding Prosthetic Makeup for a Series, Miniseries, Movie or a Special: John Adams, HBO – Trefor Proud, Department Head Makeup Artist/Special Makeup Effects Artist and Designer John R. Bayless, Special Makeup Effects Artist Christopher Burgoyne, Special Makeup Effects Artist Matthew Mungle, Prosthetic Makeup Designer & Creator
E! Entertainment Television will air the awards show as a two-hour special at 8 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 20. Neil Patrick Harris (How I Met Your Mother) and Sarah Chalke (Scrubs) will host. Check local listings for a specific time and channel.

Paul Starr, Make-Up Artist to the Stars, Dead at 51 - Wednesday 20 August, 2008 |
Make-up artist Paul Starr, whose celebrity clientele included Hollywood actresses, rock stars, supermodels and fashion houses, has died. According to the Los Angeles County Department of the Coroner, he was 51.

'Blush' Contender Dies - Tuesday 16 December, 2008 |
According to TVGuide.com, Todd Homme from the Lifetime Channel's Blush: The Search for the Next Great Makeup Artist was found dead in his home this past Saturday, Dec. 13. Make-Up Artist magazine spoke
with Blush contestant Maxi, who confirmed he spoke with Homme's family
regarding the death. Details and responses from other contestants are
pending. According to Maxi, the show will air a video tribute to Homme at the
end of tonight's show, which is the finale. Check local listings for show times. |

Tsuji, Antonella, Berger Headline IMATS L.A. - Friday 18 April, 2008 |
| Kazuhiro Tsuji, whose work on the films Click and Norbit earned him two Oscar nominations, will design and apply an original prosthetic silicone make-up exclusively for this year's International Make-Up Artist Trade Show, held June 21-22 at the Pasadena Convention Center. This is a first IMATS engagement for Tsuji, who will serve as keynote speaker. |
