The editorial staff of Make-Up Artist magazine and Naimie’s Beauty Center present the Big Apple Make-Up Artist Mixer, a party and book-signing with internationally-acclaimed beauty expert Bobbi Brown. Some of the biggest names in the New York make-up scene will attend this festive event, where they’ll enjoy cocktails, canapés and conversation about the latest industry news.

The mixer, sponsored by Naimie’s, will be held 5-8 p.m. Thursday, May 14 in the Marlin Room of historic Webster Hall, located at 125 E. 11th  St. in New York. Admission is by invitation.

Brown will sign copies of her latest book, Makeup Manual, an illustrated guide of professional make-up techniques for novices and aspiring make-up artists; the book will be available for purchase onsite. She’ll also speak about her new partnership with her alma mater, Emerson College—the Bobbi Brown Makeup Artistry Program at Emerson College—and other upcoming projects.

Make-Up Artist also invites artists to discuss their latest projects at the event as the magazine develops its editorial calendar. Make-Up Artist is internationally circulated and was created in 1996 by Emmy® Award-winning make-up artist Michael Key.

Naimie’s Beauty Center, based in Los Angeles, is one of the make-up industry’s foremost retailers, offering a wide range of cosmetic tools and products—including Bobbi Brown Cosmetics—to professional make-up artists and hairstylists worldwide. For more information, visit www.naimies.com.

Web Exclusive: Hellboy 2: The Golden Army, Young Hellboy
From a make-up perspective, the first major character to appear in Hellboy 2 is a younger version of the hero, seen in a 1955 prologue with Professor Broom (John Hurt). The Young Hellboy character was created by the Barcelona-based company DDT Efectos Especiales and played in a gender-bending twist by the company’s Montse Ribé.
