Local 798 President Norman Bryn Resigns

Citing professional and personal concerns (including the ill health of his father), Norman Bryn recently announced his resignation as president of Local 798, the East Coast Make-up Artist and Hairstylist Union. The announcement was made public May 6. Bryn, who had previously served as the union's vice president, had been acting as president since the death of former president Kelly Gleason on Nov. 22, 2007.

Union elections will be held June 8. The union office is located at 152 West 24th St. in New York.

Tsuji, Antonella, Berger Headline IMATS L.A. - Friday 18 April, 2008

Kazuhiro Tsuji, whose work on the films Click and Norbit earned him two Oscar nominations, will design and apply an original prosthetic silicone make-up exclusively for this year's International Make-Up Artist Trade Show, held June 21-22 at the Pasadena Convention Center. This is a first IMATS engagement for Tsuji, who will serve as keynote speaker.

To celebrate the 10th anniversary of the hit TV series Buffy the Vampire Slayer, the International Make-up Artist Trade Show will host a panel discussion with veterans of the show. These include make-up artists Todd McIntosh, John Vulich and Peter Montagna, as well as actress Juliet Landau, who played Drusilla. More guests will be announced shortly. The panel will take place at 10:30 a.m. Sunday, June 22 at the Pasadena Convention Center's Little Theater.
