Local 798 Elects New President

Local 798, the East Coast union for make-up artists and hairstylists, has elected Valerie Gladstone as its new president. Elections were held June 8 at the union's general membership meeting. Gladstone, a veteran of film, television and Broadway, joined the union in 1989 and had most recently served as sergeant at arms. She will replace former president Norm Bryn, who resigned in May.

Tsuji, Antonella, Berger Headline IMATS L.A. - Friday 18 April, 2008
Kazuhiro Tsuji, whose work on the films Click and Norbit earned him two Oscar nominations, will design and apply an original prosthetic silicone make-up exclusively for this year's International Make-Up Artist Trade Show, held June 21-22 at the Pasadena Convention Center. This is a first IMATS engagement for Tsuji, who will serve as keynote speaker.

Peter Montagna Added to \'Buffy\' Panel
To celebrate the 10th anniversary of the hit TV series Buffy the Vampire Slayer, the International Make-up Artist Trade Show will host a panel discussion with veterans of the show. These include make-up artists Todd McIntosh, John Vulich and Peter Montagna, as well as actress Juliet Landau, who played Drusilla. More guests will be announced shortly. The panel will take place at 10:30 a.m. Sunday, June 22 at the Pasadena Convention Center's Little Theater.

IMATS 2008 a Success

The 2008 International Make-up Artist Trade Show (IMATS) in Pasadena came to a close June 22. The weekend included professional demonstrations, student competitions, new and exciting products and a memorial tribute to the late Stan Winston.
