IMATS L.A. attendees will have front-row seats to a beauty vlogger make-up challenge featuring a $25,000 grand prize.

Sponsored by NYX Cosmetics and Make-Up Artist magazine’s beauty website, Makeup411.com, the NYX Fine Artistry of Cosmetic Elites (FACE) Awards launched March 8 at nyxfaceawards.com. At press time, more than 300 vloggers had entered the competition; the names of the final six contestants will be announced May 29 on the NYX site.

Over the course of the competition, vloggers faced three challenges issued by NYX: the first was creating a tutorial for an ’80s album-cover look; the second involved using the company’s new Crimson Amulet palette, inspired by the recent film remake of Dark Shadows; the third was to create either a classic magazine cover or red-carpet look. NYX staff judged the work on creativity, technique and presentation.

The top six finalists will face their final challenge live at IMATS Los Angeles, creating a look on a model before a panel of judges, including NYX company founder Toni Ko, beauty editors and celebrity make-up artists. The winner will be chosen and the awards presented Sunday, June 24 on the IMATS Main Stage.

Along with the cash, the grand-prize winner will receive a one-year supply of NYX products, a consultation with an agent from CLOUTIER REMIX, a day of one-on-one training with a celebrity make-up artist, a professional make-up course from an L.A. make-up school, one year as a NYX video make-up artist and a product development session with Ko. The panel will also choose winners in the following subcategories: Composition, Technique, Innovation, Kinetic and Illuminative. Each of these winners will receive a one-year supply of NYX Cosmetics.

"The YouTube community has been so great for NYX, we want to do something in return," explained Evegail Andal, the PR and social media manager for NYX. .

Web Exclusive: Hellboy 2: The Golden Army, Young Hellboy
From a make-up perspective, the first major character to appear in Hellboy 2 is a younger version of the hero, seen in a 1955 prologue with Professor Broom (John Hurt). The Young Hellboy character was created by the Barcelona-based company DDT Efectos Especiales and played in a gender-bending twist by the company’s Montse Ribé.
