Lesley Vanderwalt, Elka Wardega and Damian Martin won the 2016 Achievement in Makeup and Hairstyling Oscar for their work on Mad Max: Fury Road at the 88th Academy Awards, held Feb. 28 at the Dolby Theatre in Los Angeles.

In her acceptance speech, Vanderwalt thanked director George Miller for his vision. “You’re amazing, George, we love you.”

This is the first Oscar win for Vanderwalt, Wardega and Martin. The three share the Australian Production Design Guild Award for Makeup and Prosthetic Makeup Design as well as the Seattle Film Critics Award for Best Makeup and Hairstyling for the film. Vanderwalt and Martin won a BAFTA this year for their work on the film.
