Young artists come together for an exclusive Make-Up Artist magazine photoshoot.
Cultivating relationships. Supporting make-up artists. Inspiring young talent. These are just some of the reasons IMATS and Make-Up Artist magazine even exist. Our passion for the industry is fueled by your passion. That’s why events, like our recent Young Artists lunch, are so important to us.
Long-time Make-Up Artist magazine photographer and friend of the publication Deverill Weekes urged publisher Michael Key, art director Leslie Marois and managing editor Cori Stoddard to meet a group of young make-up artists. A day after the magazine’s Emmy Awards Celebration on Sept. 9, these nine up-and-coming artists had lunch with Weekes, his team and Key in Burbank, California. The results: A collaboration.
Post-lunch seven of these artists came together for an exclusive Make-Up Artist magazine photoshoot—shot by Weekes. The theme of the shoot was tarot cards. The results are stunning. Learn more about some of these artists and see the beautiful looks they created in the newest edition of Make-Up Artist, Issue 135. (The magazine features Eden Elizalde, Sasha Glasser, Samantha Klein, Shelby Michael Patton, Jennifer “JQ” Quinteros, Victoria Vesy and Trina White.)
Below, get to know the other artists from the lunch, see photos from the lunch and a behind-the-scenes gallery of the tarot photoshoot.
