Nick London

Nick London was born in Philadelphia to an English mother and Ukrainian father. They encouraged him to pursue film making and the arts at a very young age. He was inspired during the early ‘80‘s by the color, fashion and music of that period. Nick’s mother sent him to London in 1982 to meet her English family. To his surprise London at that time was filled with colorful street fashion, punk rock, new romantic and post punk. London’s influence then became his personal style. Soon after returning to Philadelphia fashion photographers asked him to work as a makeup artist and stylist. In 1986 he moved to London to attend Complexions Makeup School. His teachers who were makeup artists from the BBC and the fashionable hair salon at the time, Jingles, encouraged Nick on his journey to become a makeup artist for film & TV, learning everything from special effects to wig making and styling.

1989 brought Nick to New York City and started him in a career as a makeup artist for independent films. Specializing in FX, period and beauty makeup. In 2007 Nick began working at NBC Universal for the NBC Local News, MSNBC, The Today Show, The Tonight Show & Dr. Oz.
Nick currently works as a department head & key makeup artist on feature films and episodic television on films like 12 Years A Slave, Shame, Who Are We Now & The Clovehitch Killer.
