Face Off, the Syfy reality show that pits special make-up effects artists against one another in creative challenges, is now auditioning contestants for its third season.
Open-call auditions will be held 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Feb. 20 at the L Make-Up Institute & Agency, located at 241 W. Charleston Blvd., Suite 150 in Las Vegas. Participants must be U.S. citizens and at least 18 years old; they may be trained or self-taught and should be proficient in special make-up effects. They also must bring their own make-up kits and copies of their portfolios and résumés, and should be prepared to create a character on themselves in 15 minutes or less from their own pre-made prosthetics.

Artists who cannot attend the audition can submit a five- to eight-minute video in which they describe their backgrounds and experience and create an effects character on themselves in 30 minutes or less. The deadline for video submissions is Feb. 22. Videos can be sent via the postal service, yousendit.com or a YouTube link. Along with the videos, artists should send links to their online portfolios and current résumés. Email [email protected] or call the casting producer at 818-842-2496 x 215 for full details.
