Updated March 10.

Make-Up Artist magazine’s beauty editor, Melissa MacGillivray, got a backstage view of the make-up trends emerging from Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week’s NY Fall 2011 shows. “Come fall, we’ll be seeing a lot of creamy skin and minimal foundation, cream blush applied with the fingers for a glowing flush and stained lips in shades ranging from the palest violet to the deepest wine,” MacGillivray said. “Cool color schemes dominated: think smoky gray eye shadows paired with lips washed in mulberry. Missing from the usual set of beauty staples? Eye and lip liner.”

See highlights from the shows below. All artists were working with M.A.C. unless otherwise noted.
