Twenty make-up artists and hairstylists have been invited to join the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences, the academy announced Wednesday. They are among 683 artists and executives that the academy invited, and if they accept the invitation, they’ll join a roster of more than 6,000 existing members.

According to academy data, invitees included 283 new international members from 59 countries, with women representing 46 percent of the new class and people of color representing 41 percent.
