Nineteen-year-old Gabrielle Hunt, a Kinver-based make-up artist, has been awarded Midlands Make Up Artist of the Year at the Midlands Fashion Awards (MFA) in Birmingham, England.
The event, held on Oct. 16, was an opportunity for emerging designers and make-up artists to showcase their talent.
Of the process, Hunt explains, “We were initially required to present our ideas for an exciting, fresh spring and summer make-up look. From this, some of us were chosen as make-up artists for the Independent Designers Catwalk Show in August at the Hyatt in Birmingham and then for the Midlands Fashion Awards. We were judged on our performance and make-up style. … My aim is to bring out the confidence in all of my clients.”
Leading make-up artist Jules Cardozo-Marsh and MFA founder and Managing Director Jenny Eason presented Hunt with the award, which includes a year mentorship with Cardozo-Marsh.
Hunt says in a press release, “I’m really happy about winning this award. It’s an amazing opportunity. Thank you to Jennifer and Jules for giving me the chance to work with some of the best in the business. … I’m looking forward to an exciting year being mentored by Jules and the opportunity to work with some very talented people.”
