Taxi London has launched a line of cosmetics for men. The “make-up on the move” company, run by a a husband-and-wife team, saw that many male celebrities were wearing eye make-up, and that only high-end brands were available to consumers–not something edgy guys wanting to wear eyeliner could get their hands on.
“There also emerged a group that wanted to accentuate their eyes so our range is also about ‘enhancing,’” says Peter Kelly, owner and director of Taxi London.
Kelly worked with a German manufacturer to create Guyliner, a kohl pencil, and Manscara, a clear lash and brow gel. Currently the products only sell in the U.K. and online for £6.50 (www.taxicosmetics.com), but Guyliner will soon launch in Australia. Kelly is also hoping for a France and India launch and looking for a United States distributor.
Future Taxi London for Men products will include Disguys, a concealer set to launch in six weeks, and a lip balm.
