On April 26, 2015, the British Academy of Film and Television Arts announced the winners for the 2015 British Academy Television Craft Awards. Enzo Mastrantonio, Nick Dudman and Stefano Ceccarelli won in the make-up and hair design category for their work on Penny Dreadful.

Mastrantonio, the show’s make-up department head, was previously nominated for a Primetime Emmy Award (The Borgias) and won a Hollywood Make-up Artists & Hair Stylists Guild Award (Moulin Rouge!). Dudman served as Penny Dreadful’s make-up effects designer; he has been nominated for an Academy Award (Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part II) and nominated seven times and won once for a BAFTA Film Award (The Fifth Element). Ceccarelli, the show’s hair designer, won two Primetime Emmy Awards for his work on Rome.

Penny Dreadful was a three-time winner at the BAFTAs, with awards for original music and production design as well.
