Under the leadership of veteran makeup artist Stan Edmonds (Unforgiven, I, Robot), the one-year Makeup Design for Film & Television program at Vancouver Film School immerses students in the world of the make-up artist. Graduates have gone on to work in many of the leading make-up effects labs and on films such as Rise of the Planet of the Apes, John Carter, and The Avengers.

In VFS’s state-of-the-art facilities, Makeup Design students gain professional-level skills in aging and character make-up, hair laying, out-of-kit effects, airbrushing, beauty and glamour, 3D prosthetics, and much more. Many students have also won honours in the International Make-Up Artist Trade Show (IMATS) Student Prosthetics Competition.
