It’s official! Contenders for Oscar in the make-up and hairstyling category for the 91st Academy Awards have entered their next phase of this prestigious and highly anticipated race. The seven films the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences announced would remain in the competition are (listed in alphabetical order):

Black Panther

Bohemian Rhapsody

Border

Mary Queen of Scots

Stan & Ollie

Suspiria

Vice

The next stage of the competition will be held on Saturday, Jan. 5, where the make-up and hairstyling teams for each film above will present and discuss their work to members of the academy’s Makeup Artists and Hairstylists Branch—in what’s known as the “bake-off.” During the bake-off the academy members will be invited to view 10-minute excerpts from each of the seven shortlisted films. After the screening, the members will vote for the top-three films for Oscar consideration.

To see the final three, visit makeupmag.com on Tuesday, Jan. 22.

And, of course, the last leg of the competition will be the 2019 Oscars themselves.

This year they will be held on Sunday, Feb. 24 at the Dolby Theatre at Hollywood & Highland Center in Hollywood. They will be televised live on the ABC Television Network at 6:30 p.m. ET/3:30 p.m. PT. The Oscars also will be televised live in more than 225 countries and territories worldwide.
