On Feb. 10, the British Academy of Film and Television announced the winners for the 2013 EE British Academy Film Awards. Lisa Westcott won the award in the Make-Up and Hair category for her work on Les Misérables.
Westcott couldn’t attend the ceremony but received the exciting news from her son who was following a live blog. “Of course I was very pleased, it was a really tough shoot but I had the best team to help share the load,” she said via email.
Westcott, the make-up and hair designer on Les Misérables, previously won a British Academy Film Award for The Madness of King George (1996) and a British Academy TV Award for Wives and Daughters (2000), Our Mutual Friend (1999) and Masterpiece Theatre: Bleak House (1986). She was also nominated this year for the Achievement in Makeup and Hairstyling Oscar, along with Julie Dartnell.
