The 2017 Metropolitan Fashion Awards recognizes outstanding achievements in fashion and costume design in motion pictures, TV and live performance. A huge component of these designs is make-up.

This year, during the celebration of the Fifth Annual Metropolitan Fashion Week, there were two Outstanding Ensemble Awards given in the make-up category. The winners were announced at the closing gala and awards ceremony Thursday, Oct. 5 at Warner Bros. Studios.

Winners were chosen by the Metropolitan Awards Committee, while the public had the opportunity to vote for the People’s Choice Awards.

The celebration included a fashion show featuring haute couture gowns and costumes inspired by artwork from the J. Paul Getty Museum and created by national and international celebrity costume and fashion designers.

Industry professionals, influencers and celebrities were among the attendees. In the past, Metropolitan Fashion Week has raised generous amounts of money for charity. This year’s goal was to raise over 1,000,000 school supplies for underprivileged schools, which will be donated to schools affected by natural disasters in Texas, Florida, Puerto Rico and Mexico.
