Todd Masters 2016 Emmy
Todd Masters with his Emmy for R.L. Stine’s Monsterville: Cabinet of Souls

The make-up teams on The Young and the Restless and R.L. Stine’s Monsterville: Cabinet of Souls were rewarded for their efforts with Daytime Creative Arts Emmy Awards. The 43rd annual ceremony was held Friday, April 29, at the Westin Bonaventure Hotel and Suites in Los Angeles.

The Young and the Restless won for Outstanding Makeup for a Drama Series. Monsterville won for Outstanding Makeup.

Todd Masters, head make-up artist on Monsterville, said in a press release of his second career Emmy award: “The challenge on the Monsterville project was bringing the immense amount of monster characters to life—on schedule and on-budget—all while retaining a feature film-quality look. We were fortunate to be working again with director Peter DeLuise, who allowed us total creative freedom on the design and approach—which really made it a memorable show. We filled it with prosthetic monsters: witches, goblins, zombies and ghouls, as well as my sister-in-law’s favorite—the Demon Clown! (Not!)” Masters, along with seven other artists, won the Primetime Creative Arts Emmy Award for Outstanding Makeup for a Series (Prosthetic) in 2002 for Six Feet Under.
